Julia Sinkowicz studied photography in Bielefeld. She worked in film production after her graduation in 2010. Between 2010-2011 she wrote, produced and directed the German Culture News in Barcelona in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut and BTV, TV-Spain. In 2012 she moved to Berlin and worked as a producer for the VICE Media Group. From 2012 to 2016, she worked as a producer and director on numerous productions in the documentary and branded content category for VICE Media. Together with Lisa Reisch, she founded VICE News Germany, then went on to lead the VICE Motherboard format as a producer.

In 2017, she left the VICE landscape to produce the 5-hour series PORN CULTURE for SKY with the German film production company KINESCOPE FILM GMBH. In 2019, she produced her first feature film as Executive Producer with KINESCOPE in collaboration with ARTE "LIBERACE - LOOK ME OVER".
Since the beginning of 2020, she dedicated herself to VICE STUDIOS to develop and produce long-format documentaries and audiovisual projects.
Since the beginning of 2022,  she has been researching a fictional series  with the film production company SOMMERHAUS Filmproduktion GmbH.
